Prime beef comes to town

SAN Francisco SteakHouse now boasts a brand new addition to its menu – certified Australian Angus beef (CAAB).

This new and unique ingredient now makes up a selection of juicy steak cuts, alongside other menu items at the SteakHouse, which is the first Western restaurant chain in Malaysia to introduce it.

The arrival of the new beef to the menu was celebrated in a launch held at the San Francisco SteakHouse outlet at Tropicana City Mall.

Among the attendees were TT Resources Bhd chairman Tan Sri Azizan Husain, deputy general manager Pan Vui Shang and group executive chef Federico Michieletto.

There was also special guest Brenton Le Poindevin, beef export manager for T&R Pastoral Pty Ltd, the South Australian supplier of the Angus beef.

On what makes the beef so different from others, Le Poindevin said: "The breed of cows that make up Angus beef is of Scottish origin, and that breed naturally produces meat that is a little sweet and tastier.

"We've supplemented that with grain-feed that is non-GMO (genetically modified) and do not give the cows hormones. This ensures that the beef is a soft, unique texture that tastes great.

"The process of ensuring that Angus beef is fully certified is very strict, and we're pleased to be associated with San Francisco SteakHouse because they can ensure that they will abide by the rules and cooking instructions to maintain the flavour and texture, and give diners the assurance of good quality eating."

Chef Michieletto then unveiled a cut of Angus beef and guests were able to savour a lunch featuring specially selected cuts to experience the difference for themselves.

In conjunction with the arrival of Angus beef to San Francisco SteakHouse, the restaurant chain is holding a How Much Do You Love Your Beef? contest from Nov 1 to 30 to allow everyone to express their love of quality beef.

Just order any Angus beef dish from San Francisco SteakHouse and you are entitled to one contest entry form. Describe your love of beef in 25 words or less and submit it to the outlet staff or mail it to TT Resources Bhd's head office.

The first prize winner gets to dine at any San Francisco SteakHouse outlet for free for one whole year, while the second prize winner gets a whole 5kg portion of certified Australian Angus beef for free, which can be cooked by the SteakHouse chef in any style and shared among family and friends at San Francisco SteakHouse.

Besides the contest, from now until Jan 31 next year, San Francisco SteakHouse outlets and other F&B outlets under the TT Resources group are offering CIMB card holders special privileges.

CIMB Enrich MasterCard and CIMB Enrich World MasterCard holders can earn five Enrich Miles with every RM1 spent on food and beverages.

CIMB Direct Access credit card and other CIMB credit card holders can get a discount of 10% on a la carte menu items.
